Does anyone know a good way to file taxes online for free? I’ve gone through the process twice now only to be hit with a fee at the end. If you have a testimonial, I’d love to hear it
PS – I have totally easy taxes this year, so I don’t need to do anything fancy.

Dude, tomorrow is Groundhog day. How crazy is that? It’s one of those days you don’t think about for 364 days, and then you listen to a morning radio show, and it’s like, “oh yeah, break out the groundhog!” My big problem with this “holiday” is that it unnaturally teases you into thinking that winter’s almost over when it hasn’t even really begun. Even if spring starts six weeks from now, it’s still not going to be bikini season. Then there are these other signs of spring, like pitchers and catchers going back to training in a week, and my grocery store trying to sell me packages of seeds, and tickets going on sale for Mountain Jam. BTW, I really, really want to go to Mountain Jam and camp out there. But I currently I am without resources for camping. And despite my yearning to commit to a relationship, I feel uneasy about committing to a concert that is five months away. I may just fall back to enjoying the sounds of Government Mule, The Felice Brothers and Michael Franti on the radio.
Quick fact about this winter: This was the first January since 1935 that the Hudson Valley received no measurable snow. Depending on weather you’re a pessimist or just a person who sees the glass half-empty, that means we really are eff’d with climate change, or we’re due for a really big snowstorm this month.
On an unrelated note, I want to say that I’ve been vindicated: Starbucks is getting rid of sandwiches. I guess the important people over there read The Daily Tannenbaum. Maybe the price of salt rose so much that they could no longer afford to make their food-esqe monstrosities. Either way, this is a win for capitalism and foodies everywhere.
BTW, I thought last night’s Lost was good enough to get me hooked again. That means I need to spend the next seven Thursdays bumming a spot on a friend’s couch. (Thanks for last night, Dutchess, my allergies are now almost all gone…)
