Bad apples

Hiya.

My iBook broke last night.  Puppy won’t turn on for a lick.  So so you know what I was forced to do (after going to the movies and watching an episode of “Heroes” on DVD and talking to friends on the phone?)  I was forced to read a book.  The horror!

Just kidding.  I finished Anne Tyler’s “Digging to America” last night, and it was quite good.  I recommend it to many.

Oh, but the point here is that I’m without internet at home at the moment, so I’m abbreviating my post since Monday is Super! Busy! Day! at work.  What I would like to say in short, and I was going to say it in long, dovetails with last Monday’s ode to the commenters.

This one’s for you, lurkers!  For those of you that come and read and don’t discuss, for those of you who remind me of shy me in school (was there ever anything worse that being graded on participation?)  for those of you who just came here to find out about funny kickball team names, and for those of you who are friends in real life and have that funny habit of commenting in real life, thanks for stopping by!  I’d give you a personal shout-out as well, but I can’t because… you’re lurking.

Oh, and PS - I got a chance to do some retail shopping yesterday (a horrible idea when you’re on crutches two weeks before Christmas!) but the bottom line is that I’m one step closer to getting the prizes to the lucky prize winners.  Bear with me, folks.

I did some commercial shopping this week-end too. When you go with a plan of action and do not divert from it, turns out it is not so bad.

Hopefully the whole being on crutches thing is getting easier.

We were just walking through Target, and it turned into a thing.

Online shopping is your friend. The internet loves you, Noelle. Do you hear its sweet siren song?

I was trying to sing back, but the fucking computer wouldn’t turn on.

Crutches are dangerous. You should try a walker. The cool factor goes way down (and everyone knows how cool crutches are, especially when paired with a cast), but the room for error goes way up.

Walkers are only good if you’re allowed to put weight on your leg.

Shopping at xmas time on crutches - sounds dangerous! and i thought you’d find things from around yr. place; didn’t expect anything new. you know some of those spices from yr. past. :D

    It’ll be a mix.

Ugh! I went holiday shopping today — no crutches, not a weekend — and after three hours I decided I hate everyone everywhere and holidays are stupid. I’m beginning to think you have super powers.

I just walked through Target. It was nice to be around people, just for a little while.

Hmm… I was sort of over Anne Tyler after “Before We Were Grownups,” but I might check out “Digging to America.”

    I hope you’re off crutches soon–sounds miserable!

I liked but didn’t love Digging to America. It’s a nice read with good characters, and not that long.

    Oh no, broken iBook!

I still love the Michael Franti that it shared with my macbook this summer. Bonjour, Bonjour!

he’s great, isn’t he? Why isn’t that album everywhere?

Take your time on my prize, because obviously I’ve been taking my time with yours. Sigh.

Oh, also, I love Anne Tyler. People sometimes give me shit for this. Why?

  • stefanie // December 11, 2007 at 11:17 pm

I almost forgot I had a prize coming! Yay!!

Also, being graded on participation sucked. That was always the one negative in my report card comments. “Stefanie is doing well but needs to participate more.” Boo to that.

Also, boo to your broken computer. Hope it’s remedied soon.

Books are so 2006, but you rock old skool like that.

PS - I lurked for a few days. I was channeling lurker.
