Moving to a cottage is a lot of work

This is my last post from the apartment that I have lived and loved in for the past 5 years. As of tomorrow, I will be handing the keys back to the landlord, closing the door for the last time on the world’s best shower, New York’s safest fire escape, and the cheapest rent per square foot of anyone else I know in Manhattan.

One last look at my apartment door.

Goodbye 10 foot ceilings and crown molding. Goodbye Naked Kitchen Guy and loud people in the lobby. Goodbye Free WiFi connection from the wonderful neighbor, Jonathan. (Where were you last week man?! Even the guy posting from Baghdad was able to get online!) Goodbye terrible parking, hello circular driveway. Hello two story cottage with the really really low ceilings. Hello backyard and nature. Hello 2 minute commute to work. Hello charming charm coming out the wazoo. Hello fireplace. Working fireplace.

What I left behind.

Precious few hours are left in this apartment, and I need to get off my duff and do some more packing, now. Please keep checking back to this site for updates on the new cottage. I’m going to get an actual legit internet connection, so I’ll have no excuse to keep you posted on 30 activities: Hudson Valley. Also, check back on the old site every once and a while. I’m going to put up some posts from the last 5 days when I was offline, and I’ll add some more pictures, and a rant on parking in Washington Heights. In the meantime, hope and pray that it doesn’t snow until Sunday!

JennyR & Birmingham in the truck ready to drive away.

All my precious helpers take one last look at the only dead end street in Manhattan.
